Public Employees' Retirement Association of Colorado v. Citigroup Inc. (S.D.N.Y.)
In one of the most significant cases resulting from the global subprime mortgage crisis, the Public Employees’ Retirement Association of Colorado, the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System and three European pension funds retained E&C to pursue claims against Citigroup Inc., certain of Citigroup’s officers and directors, and Citigroup’s auditor. The action seeks recovery on behalf of a class of investors in Citigroup who suffered substantial losses caused by Citigroup’s misrepresentations and omissions in connection with numerous entities Citigroup created or sponsored that issued or purchased assets backed by subprime mortgage securities. The action also alleges that Citigroup failed to account properly for certain of its off-balance sheet structured investment vehicles.
