Finding itself the target of a civil RICO claim and a request for injunctive relief that threatened its ability to continue operations, an engineering firm retained E&C in what was a classic bet-the-business case. E&C convinced the court that there was no basis on which to enjoin the client. The case later settled after E&C filed a motion to dismiss highlighting the legal insufficiency of the plaintiffs’ RICO and other claims.
